I completed my MBA in Media and Entertainment in 2015 from Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, specializing in advertising. After graduation, I undertook several freelance projects, working as a cameraman, cinematographer, video editor, and content writer. Following a brief stint in Mumbai, I relocated to Chennai and joined Groupon, where I edited content and set up campaigns for merchants across various regions including AU, Asia-Pacific, US, UK, and India.
Seeking more strategic and planning opportunities, I transitioned to a startup digital marketing agency, 42 & More. At the outset, the team was small, comprising only five members, requiring me to wear multiple hats. My responsibilities ranged from writing social media content and setting up Facebook campaigns to client meetings, onboarding, presenting marketing plans, optimizing campaigns, and conducting weekly review meetings. This role provided invaluable experience as I worked with a diverse array of clients, including real estate, healthcare, universities, SaaS companies, events, restaurants, and e-commerce sites. At 42 & More, I was fortunate to have a great mentor, Arvind. He imparted invaluable lessons on client management, strategic planning, and leveraging data to drive results. His guidance significantly enhanced my skills, and I remain deeply appreciative of his mentorship. As the company grew, I managed around 20 clients and oversaw a team of graphic designers, content writers, junior social media executives, and Google Ad marketers.
After three years at 42 & More, I moved to Rhapsody Pro Audio, a post-production studio for Dolby Atmos mixing for OTT and web series content, which was part of my father’s company. Here, I was responsible for launching the brand, setting up the website, curating content, and establishing Google search campaigns. Additionally, I handled business development, client negotiations, and ensured smooth operations. Once the studio gained a steady client base, I had more free time and began taking on freelance digital marketing projects. Notably, I worked with Goasknow, creating content and Google ads, and engaged in various freelance video editing and audio mixing projects, including feature films.
Eventually, I joined Deloitte Digital as a senior trafficker and was soon promoted to senior QC. In this role, I QC-ed Facebook campaigns, Google Ad Manager 360 campaigns, and Simplify Platform campaigns, ensuring they met their goals. I also served as the point of contact for high-priority national campaigns, conducted review meetings, optimized campaigns, and contributed to the ad tech team. I set up dashboards to evaluate team performance and my focus was on providing training and maintaining quality in accordance with SLAs.
